Invitation to Participate and Attend the upcoming Sangamam 2017

Dear Teachers, Parents, Participants, Volunteers, Sponsors and Community Members,

On behalf of Sangamam Ottawa, it is with great pleasure that we write to inform you about the upcoming Sangamam 2017 event, an Evening of Indian classical Music and Dance performances by our Children & Youth in the National Capital Region of Ottawa and also special performances by Children & Youth from Montreal and Toronto.

The Sangamam 2017, as part of the Ottawa Tamil Heritage Month Festivities, would be held from 4:30 PM on Saturday January 28th, 2017 at Kailash Mital Theatre, Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario.

The Sangamam: Ottawa Tamil Children and Youth Society, is a registered Non-Profit Organization, was created to Showcase native Carnatic Music and Dance Talents among our Children & youth. The Sangamam is indeed a Stage that brings all of our Children & Youth to work together under one roof for Good Causes.

About 90% of the Sangamam programs are based on Carnatic Music and Dance, and group performances only. The performers should be between the ages of 10 and 24. But the background instrumentalists, Special performances and MCs are exempted from these age limits.

The Sangamam gives first priority to our Carnatic Vocal & Bharatanatyam teachers by receiving programs from them, directly. If anyone is interested in participating, kindly contact your teachers first. If one doesn't have teachers here, those can contact us directly. The Sangamam will try to incorporate your talents within the program scopes.

Having said, It would be an honor to have all your presence on this occasion to encourage the Children & Youth performers. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support to Showcase the Children & Youth Talents by helping to create the Stage for them and bring this event to reality. Our sincere Invitation is extended to all worked tirelessly with us in the past to work with us again with Our Children's & Youth's future in mind. Your presence and blessings on that day will make us to accomplish more great things in the future for our Children & Youth, who will be the Future Leaders of this Nation. Please confirm your participation by October 20th, 2017.

About Sangamam 2016:
The Sangamam Stage was created to showcase the native talents among our Children and Youth in Ottawa by providing a professional stage experience for them. This is indeed the stage that brings all of our children and youth to work together under one roof and excel in their native talents. Proceeds from the Sangamam events are always donated to good causes and especially towards children in need.

Sangamam Ottawa's (Tamil Youth Cultural Society) inaugural event, Sangamam 2016, an evening of Indian Classical Music and Dance, was held on Saturday January 30th, 2016 at Centrepointe Studio Theatre in Ottawa and performed by over 50 children and youth. Some of the performers travelled long distances from other cities (Montreal & Toronto). It was a huge success that showcased so many Talents of our youngsters.

The proceeds from this event was donated to RainDrop Foundation Inc. of Ottawa to be used towards Children Causes in Sri Lanka such as Mahadeva Children Home. The Total Donation from Sangamam 2016 was closed to: $3400 (Ticket Sales + Sponsors + Donation).
